According to a study by the French Fashion Institute (IFM), released Thursday, January 10, the French spent an average of 97 euros for their underwear in 2012. The survey, conducted on the occasion of the holding of the International Exhibition of Lingerie, 19 to 21 January in Paris, however, specifies that this budget varies considerably depending on the age of consomatrices.
Women aged 15 to 24 years are those that spend the most on their underwear for an average of 144.80 euros per year, before the 45-54 (113.60 euros) and 55-64 years (108.20 euros). French women aged 25 to 34 years have a lower budget (99.80 euros).
The lingerie market - which also includes footwear (tights, socks, etc..) - Accuses however a decrease of about 3% compared to 2011.
