Unusual odor, clearly recognizable yours. Some perfumes have decided to specialize in the "tailor-made" to satisfy their customers tired of wearing the same fragrance that hundreds of thousands of strangers. This is the case of Nose, installed less than a year in the Montorgueil in Paris. In the shop, bottle no big brand, the emphasis is on rare species.

Another dominant trend, the complicity between perfumers and fragrant. Each client is offered as a "diagnostic olfactory" - what perfume do you wear, where have you worn? Flowery, oriental, woody? What are your favorite score? - To be completed in the store or online. Nose then prepare a list of five suggestions of perfume from some three hundred references. A small luxury has its price. The products offered by Nose revolve around 100 euros on average, against a range of 30 to 90 euros in a string of classic perfumery.
"PROMISE OF CONTENT"
Mark Buxton, Perfumer for twenty years, is part of the small team that mounted Nose. Two years ago, he left what he calls "the industry" and launched his own line. Today, it is one of the thirty brands on sale in the shop. When large groups develop a new perfume, he says, they control their nose a general idea of what the final result should look like, and a tariff limit that restricts the range of possibilities. None of this market niche products, which delivered cost constraints often contain more natural oils and scents synthetic upper. "In general, these perfumes are well spread and take long on the skin, which is the mark of quality ingredients," he insists.
